We take an active and leading position in production engineering research.
As visionaries, we develop new goals in production engineering for the benefit of society.
We pride ourselves on being both specialists and generalists. Through interdisciplinary planning and action, we turn innovation into practice.
We build bridges between research and industry in order to quickly and efficiently implement our findings.
We train the engineers of tomorrow, characterized by their leadership abilities and expertise.
We convey principles of production science and current research findings. In this way, we connect research and teaching.
Our internal culture is characterized by an openness to new ideas, flat hierarchies, and creative cooperation.
Why set principles?
The objectives of the Institute guide our endeavours in research, training, and knowledge transfer. In order to achieve these goals efficiently and effectively, it is necessary to establish a common code of conduct.
It is for this reason that we dedicate ourselves to these principles. They establish a code of conduct, that is, a set of basic rules, for our daily activities. These rules should be followed by iwb concerned parties; these are rules to live by for iwb employees.
